Deika is the co-founder of a boutique strategic advisory firm and registered non-profit organizations in Jamaica and the USA. She has worked as Chief Research Officer for a multinational financial conglomerate and has served the Government of Jamaica in numerous capacities including as a Senator, Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning, chief trade adjudicator and facilitator of public-private partnerships. Deika holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics degree, cum laude, from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Systems degree, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Science in Engineering Science degree from Harvard University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Deika is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Institute for Sustainable Development, The University of the West Indies. She is also the President of the University of Pennsylvania Alumni Club of Jamaica. She has served on numerous boards and committees in the public, private and non-profit sectors including the American Chamber of Commerce in Jamaica, the Economic Policy Committee of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica, the Women’s Leadership Initiative (United Way of Jamaica) and the Rotary Club of Kingston.
