Mary-Elizabeth Gifford

Mary-Elizabeth Gifford is chair of the Global Wellness Institute’s Psychedelics and Healing Initiative. Named in 2022 by Spirituality & Health Magazine as “the most quietly influential woman working in psychedelics today,” her background is rooted at the intersection of botanical remedies, regenerative agriculture, mental wellness and public health.
She joined the team at Psyence from a Washington, DC, nonprofit, The Center for Mind-Body Medicine, global experts in trauma healing. Known for her inclusive approach to leadership, Mary-Elizabeth led the Board of Directors of Demeter-USA, the USDA-authorized certifier of Biodynamic farmlands, and served on the Board of The Center for Responsible Travel. She was educated at Brown University, with a post-graduate year of study at Harvard. She lives in Washington, DC, and is a contributor to Lucid News.
